Boženka is a Czechoslovakian-born artist who has lived in the valley for more than 30 years. Betty Peterson paints under her birth name of Boženka.
She paints varied subjects, flowers, places and people; her paintings are known for their vivid colors.
Peterson studied at the Kachina School of Art, Scottsdale Artists School, and was a student of the late muralist, Jay Datus. She took a break from active painting for over 20 years during which time she earned an interior design degree and worked in the field of commercial design. |
